Individual Counselling for Medical Trauma and Post-Recovery Identity
About Nicole Grace Bangloy
When an illness or injury comes into your life, it can be destabilizing and sometimes debilitating. Life can feel like it has changed dramatically and you’re left trying to make sense of the experience. People often grieve who they were, while also struggling to figure out who they are in the world, at work, in their family and even in their own bodies. Does this feel familiar to you?
I can help. I am a Registered Social Worker with a decade of health care and counselling experience. I support individuals, and their loved ones, that have experienced psychological and emotional distress after injury, illness, and other complex health issues, such as chronic pain and medical trauma. I also provide support for individuals and families as they move through the medical system including support with admissions to hospital, out-patient services and challenging interactions with the health-care system.
I help people intentionally create their “new normal” in a way that acknowledges the losses, while looking towards tomorrow. Together, we can create a new sense of self and identity beyond physical healing and recovery. If this sounds familiar to you, and you are ready for change, please contact me for a free consultation.
